Magnesium Elektron provides support to engineers & designers new to Elektron magnesium alloys. With 20% to 30% weight saving over aluminium, modern Elektron alloys can be sand cast, investment cast, machined and extruded into the required product. Surprisingly, at elevated temperatures, these Elektron alloys are also stronger than aluminium, which can lead to a solution that is both lighter and stronger than aluminium. Today, both End Users and Suppliers from every tier rely on Magnesium Elektron’s expertise to help in the battle to reduce weight. The Magnesium Elektron Division is part of the Luxfer Group, an international manufacturer of high performance engineering materials including magnesium alloys, zirconia products, aluminium tube and high pressure gas cylinders.
