The Titanium Information Group is organising a 'Titanium research day' to be held at Swinden House conference centre in Rotherham, with a provisional date of Thursday 24th July 2008, 9.30am-5pm. The day will include companies and universities coming together and talking about current research in Titanium, and possibilities for future research and collaborations between industry and academia. Presentations would be given by PhD, EngD and postdoc students in the form of posters and Short 20 minute talks with a prize for the best poster and best presentation. Companies will also give presentations on up to date R+D in their respective fields. In the evening will be a meal for those who choose to attend. The day would be free for attendees and presenters, the only cost incurred would be personal travel and the meal. We have already had interest from Birmingham, Swansea and Manchester Universities representing Academia, plus NPL and VBC group representing Industry R+D, and would like many more, including companies that may have students working with them.
